Mike started in the landscaping business 35 years ago. In 1992, he launched Legends Landscaping which has been a fixture of Reno landscaping for more than a quarter century. As founder of the company, Mike has held every position along the way, from laborer to landscape designer, heavy equipment operator to foreman. He built Legends with an approach unique in the Reno market — do it all and do it all well. Legends was among the first Reno landscape companies to offer start-to-finish design and installation, including curbing, pavers, irrigation, water features and decorative concrete. He is proud of his company’s commitment to quality work delivered on-time and on-budget.
Carrie Cowan, Owner

Carrie’s first job was working in the nursery department when she was in high school. The job ignited her passion for plants, people, and working outside. She has worked in every aspect of landscaping since, including residential estimator/designer, superintendent, commercial superintendent, commercial estimator, and project manager. In her 23-year career, she has been certified as a nurseryman, certified by the Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute, OSHA 30 certified. Carrie also holds a degree in construction management, her C-10 landscape license, and a C-5 concrete license.
Erik Miller, Commercial Estimator

Erik joined Legends Landscaping in July of 2020 as a Commercial Estimator. He has been involved in the landscape industry since 1983, starting a neighborhood maintenance business while in school. After graduating from the University of Nevada, Reno in 1997, Erik made his passion of exceeding client expectations his full-time career. Erik’s experience with landscape design, estimating, and construction, both residential and commercial, has made him a valuable Estimator as he has the knowledge of what it takes to build a project from start to finish.

Todd has been in the Landscaping Industry for over 6 years. He is an excellent leader who is always willing to go the extra mile for his teams and our clients. His favorite thing about his job is seeing the finished product come together. Todd is certified in landscaping & has his OSHA 30.
Rodrigo Fernandez, Commercial Superintendent

Rodrigo started landscaping in 2007, working at the Cabela’s project in Reno. After beginning as a laborer, he has worked his way up to Superintendent. He is both humble and incredibly knowledgeable. He specializes in irrigation systems, planting and keystone walls, and is OSHA 10 certified.

Joel joined the Legend’s family this Summer and has extensive leadership experience and is a certified paver & block wall installer. He leads by example and spends a lot of time nurturing relationships with both his teammates and clients. He loves being able to transform a blank canvas into a work of art.
